We made an end of the year recap film.
Then turned it into a game.
Then watched streamers play it live,
with their communities, for hours and hours and hours.
Twitch
Every December, Twitch gives streamers and viewers a personalized data summary of their year on Twitch: favorite, games, streamers, hours watched / streamed, emotes used, etc. Itβs called the Twitch Recap. Lots of brands celebrate these drops with some sort of end of year video.
But rather than creating something to watch, we turned Recap into something to play: a side-scrolling game where players relived the biggest moments of 2023, collected emotes, and chased high scores. Featured on the Twitch homepage and streamed by creators, it transformed Recap into a community-wide event that let everyone play a part in the celebration.
